A Changing Sector

Ecommerce has changed out of all recognition in the last 24 months.  Online shopping in Europe grew from 3.9% of GDP in 2019 to 4.6% in 2020 with the UK and Ireland reporting that 92% and 81% respectively shop online. This growth represents a huge opportunity for small retailers to expand their reach, but as the sector has surged, so has the online shopping experience and customer expectations.

Ecommerce isn’t the cherry on the cake, it’s the new cake

Customer Experience vs User Experience

The experience of shopping online is radically different from traditional shopping.  While convenience and choice has exploded, the ability to assess what you are buying has been severely hampered and the time to aquiring the goods has gone from instant to days or weeks.

As an industry, ecommerce is in it’s infancy and still has a long way to go before it reaches it’s full potential but we are starting to fill in the gaps.  Recently we deployed the ArtVisualiser app for The Whitethorn Gallery which allows you to see the artwork hanging on your wall before committing to a purchase and we also have our own virtual try-on system for clothes in the pipeline.

Sizing Guide

Ecommerce projects are far from all alike.  As the leading ecommerce web development company in Galway, we have built B2B and B2C online stores to sell events, downloads, clothing, sculpture and more, each in a different market and requiring a different approach to sales.  By treating each project as a unique design and build to fit your market we give you the edge you need.
